Customers had the opportunity to take advantage of gold and silver hitting record highs by selling their old, broken or unwanted jewelry items while the local area food banks would earn 5% of all the precious metal profits they purchased from November 21st through December 21st.
The goal during the holidays was to mobilize the public and help feed those in need. This promotion has been a win-win for both customers who received more for their jewelry and for the hungry in south Texas. The San Antonio Food Bank’s area is affected by high rates of hunger, poor nutrition, and related health problems. The downward turn in the economy has only heightened the need and increased requests for emergency assistance.
